We have just about polished off all the Halloween candy around my house and are already starting to see hints of the Christmas season. Every store has got the decorations going up and even television commercials are starting to turn the corner in that direction.

It is maybe a little known fact by those of you who don’t know me that I’m a Christmas fanatic, so I’m getting excited! I start listening to Christmas music on April 19th, the day after my birthday. And it was around that time that we actually really started preparing for this Christmas EP this year.

Basically the theme behind it is that I really began to see the birth of Jesus as our Rescue. The God-made-man to be our rescue from our sin into community with Himself. The EP is at it’s core a worship experience with a holiday flare to it. As much as I am a Christmas fan, I didn’t want it to sound like your average Christmas music because I know that a lot of you guys really hate Christmas music… particularly when you’ve ONLY heard Christmas music for 20 days straight.

The other theme is that Jesus really set the example of rescue and compassion for us. The fact that Jesus come into our brokenness and exercised his very unique ability to save us from our spiritual poverty is in itself an example for us to do the same. It is a precedence set by God himself, for us to be Justice, Mercy and Compassion in a broken and impoverished world.

So, we’re ramping up for our Justice/Compassion Tour this spring with a few spot dates in December that will have a very intentional Christmas flare. From Dec. 3-13th, we’ll be coming through San Antonio, Houston, Austin, Waco, and Dallas, TX as well as Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, South Dakota, and North Dakota.

Additionally January 10-17, we would love to head through Abilene and Lubbock, TX, Phoenix, Tucson, Las Vegas, San Diego, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Portland and Seattle.
