HELP US CHANGE THE LIFE OF AN ORPHAN

by Stephen on Jan.02, 2010, under Adoption, Stephen's Blog

If you remember, we wrote a couple weeks ago about our decision to begin the adoption process for a child in Kazakhstan. As we mentioned in our last post, this will cost between $25,000-$35,000 and could take up to a year after the funds are raised. We decided rather than wasting time, we would begin the fundraising process right away while we searched for a great adoption agency that works with Kazakhstan.

As a result, we have opened a bank account and PayPal account dedicated strictly to our adoption in Kazakhstan.

We are asking you to pray about it and seek the Lord, and then come alongside us in changing the life of an orphan in the next year. You can do this in a couple ways.

1. Please pray that God will give us wisdom to move forward and favor with an excellent agency.
2. Please pray that we will have fortitude and courage to carry this process through to the end. This is a REALLY hard process! Everyone tells us that it’s more pain than we could ever imagine, but so worth it.
3. Please give to our adoption fund. You can donate on PayPal by sending your donation to adoption@stephen-miller.com

Thanks guys!

Grace and peace,
Stephen Miller

I think it’s great that you are deciding to adopt a kid from Kazakhstan, but what about the kids in America? I never hear people talking about them. I’m not trying to change your mind but I just couldn’t help but ask that. I have a friend at school that might loose her mom and her grandpa kicked her out because he was drunk, and she doesn’t know who her father is. She doesn’t have anyone else. She’s living with her boyfriend. I asked her if she’s been praying and she said yeah every day. I’m praying for her also but I just can’t help but wonder where she’s going to end up.

    Stephen,
I actually heard about you from our students who were at super summer this past week… were you were leading. Actually, we used your song “we say yes” today in our worship set at trace crossing. Anyhow, I want to encourage you to keep trusting God about adoption. My wife and I have 2 biological children, and had always wanted to adopt. We received a phone call about a mother who was going to give up her baby in a town about 40 miles south of where we live.(we live in Tupelo, MS) We didn’t much of it, but then all of a sudden this newborn baby’s family calls us to ask us if we wanted the child. WOW!!! It’s one thing to pray for this to happen, and then BAM… the opportunity is right in front of you. Long story short… Caleb Andrew Sevilla was born on a MOnday, and he was at our house on that Friday. He was 5 days old when we got him. The miracle of it all is that there were no fees, no paperwork, etc..! obviously we’ve made in legal through the system) This was truly a God thing! I would love to tell you the whole story in it’s entirety sometime. Shoot me an email!

    God Bless,
    Rob
